Engaged learning courses creates collaboration with real community stakeholders, travel to authentic settings in Iowa and around the surrounding communities, and help students integrate their knowledge and learn from their mistakes.
Because of their unique format, engaged learning experiences can’t be measured using traditional assessment methods. Faculty can use a range of methods and assessments to capture student growth and development around the Iowa’s engaged learning goals.
There are many resources available on campus to support faculty, program staff, and instructors who want to develop a new course or adapt an existing course to incorporate engaged learning elements.
