At the heart of the University of Iowa’s research mission is the pursuit of discovery, the dissemination of new knowledge, and the creation of new artistic works that not only contribute to the University of Iowa campus, but our broader community and world.
Community engaged research and scholarship provide opportunities for faculty, staff, and students to fulfill this mission, enhancing the communities in which we live through important contributions to the arts, the sciences, healthcare, economic development and the humanities.
This section provides information on best practices for community engaged research and campus resources that can help faculty, staff, and students move forward in their work. Community engagement scholars will also find recommended publishing outlets and opportunities to present their work at conferences and seminars.
The Office of Community Engagement offers resources, trainings, and workshops, often in partnership with other campus units, to faculty, staff, and student researchers on how to integrate community engagement into teaching and scholarship.
