The Office of Community Engagement at the University of Iowa serves as a bridge between the university and the community. We facilitate mutually beneficial partnerships between faculty, staff, students, and community partners across our state, nation, and world. We offer trainings, workshops, and provide informational resources and expertise that empowers faculty, staff, and students to transform their teaching, learning, and research to make lasting change and a positive impact in our communities.

Join the CEN Meeting on 11/6: Sharing Community-Engaged Research with the Public

All Community Engagement Network (CEN) members are encouraged to join us on Thursday, November 6th from 12-1 pm our next Coffee with the Network meeting, held virtually. Come learn from Nichole Nidey, assistant professor in the College of Public Health, about her community-engaged research and strategies and methods she uses to share and communicate her research with the public.

With guest speakers, breakout sessions, and project development, students developed skills in community engagement. These graduate students are enthusiastic and looking forward to engaging with community partners!

Join us monthly to generate new creative writing inspired by works in the Stanley collection. Each session will be led by a different talented writer from our area, who will be offering a new prompt and a new approach to ekphrastic writing (writing inspired by visual art). Bring your own notebook and pencil or computer and leave with the beginning of a newly written piece.
