Arts Share gave a series of ceramic workshop classes in February on the University of Iowa campus to UI REACH. This is a post-secondary two-year certificate program to give college-aged students with intellectual disabilities a Big Ten college experience at the UI, where they’re empowered to become independent, engaged members of the community.

In this class, REACH students learned hand-building skills with clay and glazing techniques while giving ceramics grad students a hands-on teaching experience. REACH students created their own ceramic works of art that were displayed in the Art Building Atrium Wednesday, Feb. 28. They enjoyed a reception and recognition of their work!
