Lily Smith studies English and Creative Writing with a certificate in sustainability at the University of Iowa. By participating in the Columbus Junction Storytelling project, she practiced ethnographic storytelling techniques in a real-world setting. 

She interviewed residents, reviewed historical documents, and assembled comprehensive oral histories of Latinx community members in Columbus Junction.
